Making terrarium is a wonderful way to recycle or upcycle some glass jars we have at home. Here are some of my first-time-ever terrariums and how I made them.
What you need:
- large plain glass container
- small pebbles
- potting compost
- chopsticks to put the plants into place
- small plants
- herb clippers that are small enough to use for pruning
Preparing the container:
Put a 2.5cm layer of small pebbles in the base of the jar (if you have some biochar, you can mix and put together with the pebbles). On top of this, add 5-7cm potting compost. Just moisten the compost, donot soak. Lightly press down the compost.
Planting up:
Using chopsticks creating the hole for each plant. Insert and firm in around it. Just that simple. You have made you own terrarium art. What you have to do after is to water the plants when they need.
